Gli Archi sono la soglia antica del borgo, legata alla Via Randa, ai basoli di granito e alla memoria della Chiesa Madre distrutta intorno al terremoto del 1793. Restano un baricentro monumentale, artistico, devozionale e civico del centro storico.

Documented history
The ancient gateway to the village
The Archi mark one of Stalettì’s historic gateways. From here, the village opened onto Via Randa, the road that connected the built-up centre with the countryside and the sea.
For this reason, sutta l’Archi is both a practical meeting place and a symbolic beginning: the Cammino starts at the gateway through which generations of residents understood the relationship between the square, the lanes, the surrounding land and the coast.
Community memory
The monumental and community heart
The area around the Archi and the Chiesa Madre was for a long time a central place in the village’s religious and community life. The surviving structures, the four-sided portico, the fountain and the garden preserve a memory that is not only architectural.
Devotion, family traditions, art and everyday life meet here: a concentration of community memory that explains why Tappa 0 is more than a technical starting point.
